I've just been back from TZ camp but photos haven't been uploaded at the moment so I'll blog about the awesome camp next time ! For now , the focus shall be on :





Kay Poh Road Baptist Church (KPRBC) Vacation Bible School (VBS) 2011 ! The Big Apple Adventure - Where Faith and Life Connect ; set in New York (so-called) . VBS is always super fun ^.^


The truth is , I don't actually have much photos because I'm not a big fan of cameras other than DSLRs :o Polaroids maybe , but still , at this kind of big event , I count on others to bring their DSLRs to be snap-happy . During this VBS , that was mostly Daniel Lee's Nikon and Gavin's Canon .


This year I was put in the Games crew for the second time . Not too bad though ! Although the kids were pretty rowdy and yet alright (as always) , we had loads of fun . The Games crew consists of Toby , Xin Zhan , Martin (my cousin who's 23) , Orianna , Taddeus , Matthew , Alex and me ! We have loads of time to slack everyday except for the first day . That's because the outings are on the second and third day . On the fourth day , we will be sent to other classes to help out before the concert .


So on the second and third day , we had so much time on our hands that we actually went out to Great World City to buy Island Creamery ice cream ! Mostly Xin Zhan's and Toby's treat though . The second day's (Wednesday) tubs were mango sorbet and chendol . Everyone loved the mango sorbet and we were eating in the canteen , swapping the tubs . When there were kids it was so funny the way we panicked and hid the tubs ! And the moment the last kid stepped into the classroom , all of us immediately whipped out the tubs . It was hysterical !


The third day's (Thursday) tubs were strawberry sorbet and soursop . They were both lovely ! We spent the time eating the ice cream in the resource room , watching silly videos like NigaHiga , Charlie the Unicorn , Remi Gaillard and more . Awesome !


The last day (Friday) was a really full day from 0815 - 2100 . Mass games for 2 levels at a time - super confusing game ! So we were even more free , and the Missions crew made us go up and help them set up the crafts >< tedious ! (I'm never ever going to join Missions .) And we still had to help out with a class each after dinner . I was originally posted to Madison Square (K2) but Taddeus wanted to switch with me . So I switched to Battery Park (K1) without realising that I had actually moved away from the class which had the adorable Timothy Chin ! :< you can imagine my heartbreak . But anyway , I got another lucky break , because Battery Park said they had more than enough teachers . So I went to Grand Central Terminal (P3) , that's Alvin's class !


The kids there are relatively well-behaved , just very talkative . When I went up , not only was Alvin there , so was Alex ! Two awesome guys , we had loads of fun with the kids . I didn't get to watch the whole concert though :< but it's okay . After we finally finished the whole event and cleaning up , the three of us lay in the prayer room (that's where Grand Central Terminal is) . The prayer room is only the most comfortable room in church - with warm lights , curtains , air-con , chairs , and cushions !


So we lay on the floor with cushions and simply talked until Alex left and Timothy came in . Yes , the adorable Timothy Chin . However cute he is , he put a few cushions on Alvin's face and sat on the cushions ! Can you imagine ? Ouch !


Okay I know you guys are pretty bored by the wordy post so I shall end with a few more photos out of the few I have of me :3 the photos shall show the awesome people of KPRBC !

Back after a long long time ! Nothing much to say about the Jakarta trip . We actually missed our flight #likeaboss . Trip was uneventful otherwise . Eat , sleep , TV , Wi-fi , swim everyday . After a whole week there , I only bought an owl-printed tank top . But it's okay , because I'll be going again for a longer time !


The class chalet was wicked !





Thanks to Jia Ni & Shu Min , I finally learnt how to play mahjong , and it's addictive , too !





The food looked totally great , but somehow I wasn't feeling very hungry . So I didn't eat very much . Neither did Nadia , Violet or Deanna ! We practically survived the entire night , and morning , on snacks .

We were rotting around until 1AM+ I think , before our clique decided to head out to Mickey Donalds in the dead of the night . Restocked our snacks from Cheers before going back to the bungalow . Proceeded to play UNO and other poker card games (e.g. Bluff , Stress , Hearts , Tai Ti) until 5+ or 6+ . I don't know about the rest , but I slept for a total of 1-2 hours . And guess what's for breakfast ? Ice cream sandwiches ! I find this too epic .

So this is kind of my plan , I'm going to be pretty busy for this whole holiday . Wonder how I'm going to finish my homework ! But anyway I'm planning to buy lots and lots of stuff , heehee . Probably I'll not be updating that much but I hope there's free Wi-fi at Shangri-La ! I'll be flying tomorrow night . See you in a long long time !

I know I've been so excited about the carnival today right ? Well , here's a surprise .


I am so utterly disappointed .


We lost all 5 matches of the qualifying rounds . I totally did not expect the team to play like this . I shall not elaborate , but I can't stand this . Jac and I were so mad , and it's even more unbearable that we can't do anything about it . Right after our first match , we went to the water cooler to refill the colmens , and I felt like punching the vending machine right then and there till I left a dent .


Whatever , what's done is done . The next carnival will be the Pesta Sukan one in March at KNC , and I'll be able to play there . I don't want to see a repeat of this horrible performance .


Sometimes I feel like a mother hen over the team .



This morning I woke up at 0530 to meet them at Mickey Donalds at 0615 for breakfast . There was this transgender 'woman' who had a manly voice . She was wearing a tight white dress and no underwear AT ALL . So as you can imagine , people could see her nipple . Like , quite clearly . The MickeyD's Cafe crew laughed at her , and she made a big ruckus out of it , although exclaiming that "I don't want to be a big hooha ." 'She' threatened to call the police and get the crew sacked . Though if she did call the police she'd be the one getting charged because of her 'nudity' .



This afternoon Jac , Bernice and I were stuck at KNC because it was raining . At first we were sitting at the little building just talking , because it was raining before that . When it cleared up , we moved our stuff to the benches under one of the tents and went to shoot . While the three of us were on the court , I suddenly heard this very loud noise , sounding like a lot of people running . I'm sure they heard it but they didn't give it attention , until I looked at the sky and noticed in the distance the overcast sky . Turns out the rain was falling some distance away and was about to hit us ! We quickly ran under the tent and just in time , because it started raining .


And that's not the end . At first we were just sitting on the first row of benches , talking . The rain just got heavier and heavier , till the rain was seeping across the ground towards the bench . So we just climbed a row or two up . But it just got heavier and heavier , till the wind was blowing all the rain towards us , so we climbed and moved our stuff to the highest row , the fifth row of benches .


And then there was thunder and lightning . The lightning was so close to us ! It even struck somewhere around a tree near us , between 25 to 50 metres away . It was such a loud crack of thunder that we all jumped . Frightening ! We were all saying stupid things like , "okay God I'm sorry , please forgive me" LOL . And Jac told us of her own philosophy - don't anger God in the monsoon seasons .


The storm just got more and more violent . The wind started blowing in huge gusts , so much that we could hear the wind whip across the tops of the tents ! Like the sound of giant eagles or whatever flapping their wings right above you . We could also literally see waves of all the rainwater gushing down the court !


We also saw this weird lady at a little road next to the KNC . It was retarded , she was walking so slowly across the path , and you know why ? Because she was trying to sweep water off the path . She did so for at least 10 seconds across each step . She didn't even notice there was this man she was blocking until he pushed her gently out of his path . LOL .


At that time there were even cars at some times driving out of the KNC carpark . Whenever we saw a car driving out we would say things like , "why are there no good Samaritans who see us stranded in this lone place and come over offering a big umbrella and a free ride ?"


But it was pretty cool stuck out under the tents all by ourselves under thunder and lightning and rain . I commented once that we were like Survivors / refugees . Now we could tell people that we've been through so much together , we've even been almost killed together ! (Hey , there was the lightning .)



Sorry for the long wordy boring post people . I shall update with my holiday schedule soon . Meeting Jac for the planning of the netball camp tomorrow . Need to rush the camp proposal and plannings before Wednesday . Gosh !

And sometimes , sometimes when I am not on the stage , when the lights are dark and there is no audience to charm , sometimes I remember things . Wonderful , terrible , beautiful things . I think I was once a little girl ...

I must say that extended term is totally draining the life out of me , I don't feel like doing my English homework at all . I can't wait for it to be over . Everyday's the usual , have got netball training every weekday of this week , and the carnival at KNC is this Sunday . Good to keep myself busy anyway .



These days my emotions feel like a roller coaster ride . One time I'm laughing , though it always sounds fake to me , except for when I'm with my netball clique , because they really do make me happy . Another minute I just feel so out of everything .


But the emotion that is really dominating is lethargy . Tiredness . I feel it all the time . I can feel it when I'm just walking , I can feel it in my muscles , I can feel it in class . Like I said , extended term is really draining .


Though I don't do anything particularly , literally , exhausting .

I feel so tired all the time .

And not just physically tired .

Emotionally , mentally tired .
